Hard to picture Kelley as a 12 year old boy, but I completely understand her fascination with digital games. I think i've already recapped my need for rehab in this area. We haven't got Mario Kart yet but we have something nearly as compelling...the LG Network Blu-ray disc player with instant streaming from Netflix (Davis' Christmas present). At first I just thought "ugh, another TV box to hide" but now I'd keep it even if it was the size of a dishwasher.
First off, it's pretty. You'd think this would be a goal for home electronics but most companies seem to think we're all still living in student housing. It was also mindlessly simple to connect to the TV and equally easy to connect to our home network and the Netflix site (big points for that one). Now when we want to watch a movie, we just call up our Netflix que on the TV screen, choose a movie and it starts. That's right--it starts playing almost immediately. No waiting for minutes or hours while it downloads and no worrying that it will expire before we watch it (are you reading this Apple iTV managers?). Oh and the picture quality? It's breathtaking.
